Inspired by an article I read in ‘Who What Wear’ I asked Chat GPT what I, as a sixty year old woman, living in the country, with a classic, french inspired, casual style, should wear. This is what it came up with, with my comments in italics below:

  • Breton Striped Shirt: Choose a classic Breton striped shirt, but opt for a slightly looser fit or a longer tunic style for added comfort and coverage. I could quite happily go along with this but have chosen my new favourite shirts, The Benal  & Luque instead.
  • High-Waisted Cropped Jeans: Wear high-waisted cropped jeans, but consider a slightly wider leg or a straight-leg style for a more relaxed fit. I am very happy to go along with this suggestion – we have a least three new wide leg jeans coming through this season. I am showing you the Escobosa in beige but might hang on for the navy which needs photography.
  • Espadrilles or Loafers: Stick with comfortable footwear like espadrilles or loafers, but choose styles with more support and cushioning to ensure comfort for longer periods. As orthotic woman my days of wearing uncomfortable shoes are long gone, but this time I am opting for a pair of white flatforms
  • Trench Coat: Wear a lightweight trench coat, but opt for a longer length for extra coverage and sophistication. Clearly the bot has never been to Norfolk, so I am wearing our fabulous Yace jacket instead
  • Scarves and Accessories: Try a silk scarf for a chic touch, but opt for larger or more statement scarves to add interest to the outfit. Consider bold statement jewellery like chunky bracelets or statement earrings for added flair. Spot On
  • Structured Tote Bag: Try a structured tote bag, but opt for larger sizes to accommodate more essentials while running errands. I think a tote would be a great option but for this outfit am sticking to my trusty Isabelle cross body
  • Effortless Hairstyle: Have a sophisticated hairstyle, but consider softer styles like loose waves or a voluminous blowout for a more relaxed look. No way Jose. Although my new/old haircut was re-instated because my hair kept breaking I am keeping it as I have had so many compliments. It is also so easy to care for
  • Natural Makeup: Stick with the natural makeup look, focusing on enhancing features with subtle makeup. Consider adding a tinted moisturizer with SPF for added sun protection. Although my skin demands a slightly heavier base, I love this look, complete of course with red lippy.
  • Beret or Straw Hat: Choose a stylish beret or straw hat in a slightly larger size to ensure a comfortable fit and added sun protection. A beret? I don’t think so.

So what do you think? Are you going to ask a bot what to wear in the morning? Although it got some generic items right, it was a bit too predictable with some suggestions & totally mad with others. Like the editor who inspired my search, I think my job is safe for the time being!
