What’s On Your Wish List?

If you have been with us a while you will know that from turning the sound up on the phone when we are filming to having a stock system that still isn’t working properly six months after it broke, the biggest challenge that we have at Artichoke is getting to grips with technology. Fortunately most of our customers can commiserate with our plight we & are grateful for your continuing patience.

Our ongoing battle with technology became apparent when one of our lovely customers, Leanne approached us in the summer to ask if we could put together something that would enable her to collate a ‘Wish List’ of Artichoke items.  Something she could send to her family to give them ideas for birthdays & Christmas. I (Sarah) agreed with her that it was a genius idea & I said would investigate it immediately.

When I had a look at the website I discovered that we have the function already – it is that heart thing that keeps popping up on the product pages, I had always wondered what that was for. It also looked as the programme allowed you to  share your wish list on social media as well as email. The only problem was, it wasn’t working. Determined to demonstrate my ‘ I know how to operate programmes on a website skills’ I spent days peering at it, fiddling around & scratching my head, trying to understand why it wasn’t working when it said it was. Finally I gave in & called our techy wizard, Paula from Flying Pixel & do you know what she did?

Turned it off & then back on again. And it worked!

Now we can use it,  I thought it might be an idea to show those of you who are as technically challenged as me how to use it.

How to use a Wish List

First of all you need to have set up an Artichoke account, if you read the article Make sure you enter our Monthly Prize Draw it will show you how to do this.

Start browsing our shop & once you have found an item that you would like to see underneath the tree on Christmas Day look for the ‘Add to Basket’ button. Underneath this you will find ‘Add to Wishlist’ click on this & the item will be automatically listed. You will  then be given the opportunity to browse your wish list or you can continue adding items to it. Once you have selected your last article click on the browse button & you will be taken to your wish list – you can also access it by clicking on the account icon at the top right hand of the page (the head & shoulders cut out).

When you are in your wish list you will see that you can either copy & paste the link or click on an icon to share the wish list with friends, family & if you choose the world. It is so simple I still cant understand why it has taken me a decade to work out how to use it.

If you would prefer to do all this via a human being please do give us a call. We would be very happy to make a list for you & pass suggestions onto family, friends & relatives if they too would like to get in touch by telephone. The number to do this on is 01760 724948.
